Meet Chef Moumen
Chef Moumen was born in Marrakech, Morocco and brings his experience from his hometown to Hillcrest in San Diego, California by offering the locals and tourists an authentic experience. Guests not only get to know Chef Moumen in his welcoming environment, but they get to see how he incorporated Moroccan music, décor and traditions into the San Diego community.
Springtime is a great time to be in Morocco because fresh fruits blossom, like the orange trees. The fresh fruits in Morocco can be used in the Moroccan food to add extra flavor.
“My mother would have me go to the orange trees in my neighborhood in Marrakech, and have me collect flowers from the orange blossom water. Orange blossom water can also be used in Moroccan food to add flavor,” said Moumen.
